Isaiah Bible Study 1 is a structural Bible study focusing on the chiastic nature of the verse counts of stanzas. Starting in Isaiah 28 might seem unusual, and it would be for a study of the book, but it is an excellent place to start to understand structure.
Different English Bible translations show or format the stanza structures in different ways, and often stanzas are selected differently. Stanza boundaries are a decision of the translation committee. In many Bible’s the break between stanzas is shown with just a slight extra space between verses. For this particular structural study, the NASB and NKJV translations are useful. Have a favorite Bible, but if you can, purchase many inexpensive paperback Bibles from many translations and compare them, or study with someone who has a different translation.
